Its A Girl!!

We can now officially annouce that baby-to-be is a girl! We were both shocked when we found out, thinking that we would probably be having another boy. We are very excited to have a boy and a girl.

It will be fun and exciting to put together a girly nursery. We are thinking about a pink and brown theme. Poor Travis just painted the guest room green in March when we moved in. I guess there will be more painting in his near future :)

It's A.....Shhhhhh!

Originaly we decided to keep the sex of the baby-to-be Ellinger a secret. It was fun and exciting for Travis and I for the first couple of weeks, but then we got the itch to tell our friends and family.

We revealed the sex to our family this weekend....but we have one more special person to tell before we can officially publish the sex.

More to come....

Thanksgiving Trip

Our trip up north went great this week. Mason handled the ride really well and was content to nap, clap, play and listen to us sing his favorite songs. He really only got upset during the last 15 minutes of the ride.

We spent Thanksgiving Day snacking and then eating a wonderful meal prepared by Grandma and Grandpa Ellinger. They made all of our favorites and it was delicious! Mason didn't really want to experiment much with food during our trip, so he sat in his high chair and read his books and played with toys while we ate. He even helped his Grandma deliver some pumpkin pie to a neighbor.

After Mason went to bed every night, we stayed up late to play scrabble, cards and a new board game. We used to always do this when we came up north as a couple. This was the first time we were able to continue this tradition since Mason was diagnosed almost 2 years ago. It was really comforting to be able to have some relaxing family game time. We played a new game called Origins on Friday night and ended up spending the whole time laughing. Not just ordinary laughing, but the almost pee your pants kind of laughing. We had to use lots of kleenex because we couldn't stop crying as we were laughing so hard! At one point we even accidentally woke Mason up and then decided to call it quits and continue playing another time. Don't worry, Mason fell right back asleep.

The trip home also went pretty well.

Here is a montage of pictures from our trip. It is also posted on Mason's blog.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

We plan on visiting Grandma and Grandpa Ellinger for Thanksgiving. We hope that the roads will be clear on Wednesday, as they are expected to get 4 to 6 inches of snow tonight and into tomorrow. We hope that the drive goes well and does not take much longer than the usual 4 hours. It is pretty tough for Mason to tolerate 4 hours in the car and any traffic delays just make things even harder on him. We plan on leaving Wednesday around his naptime, so hopefully he can sleep through at least half of the ride.

Travis and I certainly feel blessed this year and have a lot to be thankful for!

We will post our Turkey Day pictures later this week....

Welcome

Hello! Welcome to our newest blog.

We have decided to keep Mason's original blog specific to his progress with his CDH complications. We hope that his blog can continue to update our family and friends and to provide hope to those families faced with a CDH diagnosis. Hence, we have the birth of this family update blog. Here you can keep updated on our latest happenings.

Stay tuned for an update and pictures of baby-to-be!
